One of the best things about staying here is that the resort practically takes care of the itinerary for you. Spend the morning in the large pools, wander through the gardens, relax in the jacuzzi, work out, play tennis or paddle or simply find a quiet corner and read for a while.

Then, of course, there’s the beach.

It’s an easy walk through the resort’s paths, making it simple to go down for a swim, come back for lunch and head out again later. Beach time, pool time — why choose?

When you’re ready for a change of scenery, Playa del Carmen is only a short drive away. Quinta Avenida, restaurants, shops and the energy of town are all close enough to enjoy before returning to the peaceful surroundings of Mareazul.

  The condo was nice, and very nicely appointed. A few of the things we didn't like are out of the owners control: distance from town (you need a car) and the pools were cold. The one controllable thing we were disappointed in was the lack of household items (toilet paper and dishwashing detergent), and the lack of response when we requested them. We had to buy toilet paper ourselves.
